Who Knew

Who knew 4 year olds could be so tricky.

We bought the boys new hats, one is blue (for Dallin) and one is green (for Alex). A couple of days ago we were outside and they were both wearing their hats. Alex was not aloud to ride his bike because he had taken it out without permission but Dallin was riding on the grass just behind our place. Alex was really wanting to ride Dallin's bike. He was trying to convince Dallin to let him ride. Dallin was not letting him. Finally Alex convinced Dallin to let him ride his bike. But he knew that Alex wasn't aloud to ride so he said, "Ok, you can ride my bike, but... lets switch hats first". I was flabbergasted! I couldn't believe that a 4 years old my boys were already trying to decieve me! I called out to have Alex get off the bike. Dallin was standing there while I was calling. He called back to me. "I'm Alex... that's me, Dallin." What am I going to do now!

UP!!

A couple of weeks ago Scott had a friday off.  After watching the kids in their sports day we decided to go to a movie.  We had been waiting for Disney's movie UP.  So since we had some free movie passes we took all the kids to the 3D movie.

Alex and Ava cuties in their 3D glasses!

Dallin and Daddy enjoying the 3D movie!

Sushi

I went to a cooking class at my church a little while ago and we learned to make sushi.  So We decided to make it!!  It was so fun.  The kids loved it.  Deneile said it was even better than the sushi we can buy in the store!  Gotta love it!

Ballet

Deneile and Ava were in dance classes this year.  So on May 23rd they had their year end dance recital.  It was fun to be able to watch them up on stage!

Ava's class were circus bears

They did a very cute dance.  I wish I could figure out how to do the video so you could see it.

Deneile's class were squirrels.  Their dance was also very cute.

I was costume parent for Deneile's class this year.  I thought it would be a pretty easy thing since the last 2 years the costume parent just washed and did a little mending of the costumes already provided.  This year the teacher wanted them to be squirrels and there was no costume for it.  So She gave me a bunch of tulle and asked me to make squirrel tails.  So of course I did what every girl - who doesn't know the first thing about making costumes - does.  I called my mom. She gave me the idea about putting craft wire up through the tulle.  So that is what I did and the result was very cute.  The teacher was very impressed and said that it was better then what she was thinking.  So thanks mom!

Birthdays

May was a very busy month. Deneile and Ava both have their birthdays in May.

For Ava's birthday I made some cupcakes for her school class.

We were supposed to go bowling that night, but there was a mix up with the booking and they had booked us on the wrong day.  So we went to the park instead, planning to go bowling the next night instead.

we had a lot of fun at the park .

Bowling was a blast.  Everyone really enjoyed it.  I loved the bumpers!!
Although I don't know how I did it but I still missed!

Deneile had a High School Musical Birthday party.

Some of the Decorations I made.  I bought the wall stickers at the dollar store and made the letters for East Side High...

This is the snack table.  I made the posters and cut out the watermelon basket.

I drew this Wild Cat!

Of course Deneile is the Star of the day.  So she had to have her name on the

My sister Lori made this amazing cake... My husband always says that when cakes look nice they don't taste very good... That was NOT the case with this cake. It looked amazing and it was DELICIOUS! mmm coconut.

We had a lot of fun at the birthday party.  First we started with crafts.  We made pennants to go up on the wall.
Then we made some fun pom poms.   I didn't get a picture of us making them but this a picture of us using them in the relay race.

Then we did a relay race.  We started with a cheer.

Then ran to do a science experiment.

Then we ran over to the basketball net and had to get it in the net!

We did some freeze dance, of course using High School Musical Music.

Then we did some Karaoke

Then we ate the most delicious and beautifully decorated birthday cake.  Thanks again Auntie Lori.

It was a lot of fun.  I think that the girls really liked it!
